Big cats have been around on almost every continent for millions of years, they have adapted to wind, frost, sun, deserts, mountains and jungle and though many species are not with us like the Saber Tooth which could have teeth at 50cm in length we are still left awe-struck at the speed and strength of the most more famous big cats terrorizing Bambi on the Serengheti like Lions and Cheetahs.
The main Big Cat families are:
Lions
Tigers (actually the largest cat in the world)
Jaguars (technically a cheetah)
Leopards
Lynx (or is it Linxes?)
Panther (Belonging to the Panthera family just like lions or tigers, so shouldn't it be Panthera Panther?)
Cheetah
Various other big cats wander in on the action from time to time but these are the main ones, mainly because they made the biggest roar or just look the funniest.
